George Kerr CBE – 28 March
George Kerr became the 4th recipeint for the prestigious Edinburgh Award in 2010 following in the footsteps of Sir Chris Hoy, JK Rowling and Ian Rankin. He famously once coached Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger at the Budokwai club in 1960s Chelsea.
George’s lecture “Breaking the boundaries in sport” will take us through a journey from when he first took up judo at the age of 8, to achieving the highest honour in his sport, the 10th Dan.
The lecture takes place on Wednesday28 March at 7pm in the Cairn Auditorium, Postgraduate Centre, Heriot Watt University.
