Breaking boundaries in sport
Dr George Kerr CBE, Scotland’s ‘Mr Judo’, is one of only six living people in the world today to hold a tenth Dan in judo. There is no higher honour in the sport, and almost all the holders are in Japan.
A former British and European champion, Olympic referee and chairman of British Judo (he is currently its president), George is also the only coach inBritain to have trained a double Olympic champion.
Here he tells his story from humble beginnings to the top of his sport.
